The Fort Wayne Komets

IMG_0255As we getting closer to the opening of the 61st season of professional hockey in Fort Wayne, Indiana I was compelled to write what the Komets have meant to my family through the years.

The Komets tradition started when my grandfather went to the games in the early 1960’s.  Since then my father has attended games and then he showed me the enjoyment of the games.  I have since gotten the opportunity to take my daughter.  I am still waiting on the opportunity to take my son to the games.

If you are ever in Fort Wayne during hockey season you really should stop by and see how the loyal fans of the Komets like their hockey played.  From the first step into the “Jungle” you will see that the Franke family has made the Komets a landmark of hockey history.

My family has seen good games and bad games, the same community spirit that the Franke Family wants to instill in Fort Wayne we all apply to our lives.  This is a mandatory birthday party for me.  I don’t think that I have missed to many games for my birthday.  It is a sense of relaxation and frustration at the same time.

I know this is not a very good article but hey its the first blog that I have written, they will get better I promise.
